Revision from yesterday

Here are a few revisions for the piece I posted yesterday, these iterations are focused on refining the dialogue because I wasn’t exactly satisfied with the initial draft.  I think the main thing was brushing up on some concepts that didn’t actually quite fit into the actual story that was happening. I think I would like to go back a bit and do the same for the other pieces of the story. This definitely isn't the final version and I will be spending time fixing this up more over the next few days. The long and short of why I'm doing this is because I sorta want to have living versions of my revisions and life has been a little busy for me so I'm finding that I definitely don't have the time to really get as much writing done as I would like. More on that later obviously. Besides that, I will be around with more posts as always.

She chose to continue eating instead of answering, but he decided to keep talking, “If you don’t want to answer that’s fine, but I do have the keys for your chain right here.”

“I wasn’t in Chult by choice.”

“So now we’re in a talking mood? Well if you didn’t end up here by choice, what brought you here anyways”

“It’s something you wouldn’t believe.”

“Try me. I’ve been sailing these seas for many years now and not a lot goes by me.”

“Was there anyone else with me when you found me?”

“Hey, I’m the one asking questions. But if you must know, you were alone.”

“Did I have anything else on me?”

“And here I was thinking I was going to learn more about you.”

“Have you ever heard of Hads Leppet or Igrax?”

“Ok listen here!” He drew a sword and held it right under her chin, “For the last time, I’m the one who is asking the questions.”

“But have you?”

“You can’t be serious right, I’ve never heard of Igrax or Hads Leppet in my life.”

“That’s not possible. Those names should be known everywhere.”

“I’ve traveled along these oceans for most of my life and I’ve never once heard of this ‘Igrax’ that you speak of.”

“It’s real, I’m a member of a house there, House Leppet”

“Oh sure.” The sailor was enjoying this a little too much for her, “That must be where this Hads Leppet comes from huh?

“That is where he comes from in fact.”

“I’m not sure how you created this silly story, but we’ve been here long enough. I’m just going to leave you here until y-

He was cut short by an explosion that rocked the entire ship.

“Arlan!” A panicked voice came from the upper deck, “We need you topside NOW!”

“I’ll be there soon.” He withdrew his sword and started to run to the staircase.

“Hey!” Ilinessa shook her chains, “If it’s a fight you’re about to be in, I can help.”
