Assorted Character Bios 3

So a little bit ago, I posted a little bit of my XCOM based fiction thingy a while ago so I thought I would introduce a few of the characters that were mentioned in that story. For these bios I wanted to make them in the style of a soldier profile kinda thing where there are outside parties commenting on the viability of having them fight. Was a little loosey-goosey with it, just wanted to see how it would feel. These are definitely not finished or complete, but just some basic things to get to know the characters a little. If you like these or don’t let me know, but let’s not spend too much time here and jump right into the bios!

---

Name: Karl Ulrich

Alias: Mr. Clean

Age: 43
Gender: Male

Race: German

Hometown: Berlin, Germany

Team: B

Class: Support, Medic

Background:

Karl Ulrich has always wanted to be a doctor. He demonstrated great medical aptitude when he became 14 and was accepted into the Berlin Medical Academy at 15. There he participated in multiple study abroad programs in places like Poland and Bulgaria and even became fluent in those languages. He became one of the youngest surgeons, accepting a position as a general surgeon in Berlin Memorial Hospital at 22, performing over 100 successful surgeries over 2 years. When Germany was first invaded by the aliens, he was able to coordinated with his local hospital to create a shelter that stood against the initial invasion for a few weeks before being rescued.

Psychological Report:

Even though he isn’t the team B leader, Karl has firmly put himself in the “first mate” position often assisting DeWitt with tactical decisions mid battle. He displays a lot of qualities as a leader, but he generally isn’t assertive enough to take full charge while DeWitt is there. We have yet to see how he will perform when DeWitt isn’t there, but he has appointed him the next captain for a reason.

Notes:

-DeWitt has stated that in the event that he is either MIA or KIA, that Karl be instantly promoted to Team B Captain.

-Despite a lack of field medic experience, he has shown that he is both resourceful and mentally strong in combat situations.

Name: Geoff Jordan

Alias: DeWitt

Age: 32
Gender: M

Race: American

Team: B

Class: Assault/Ranger

Background:

Geoff is the only one Team B with extensive military service. He was initially going to be on Team A, but he requested that he be able to form another team that he would lead. Most of the members on the team were found with the help of Goeff and while they may not be conventional, he trusts them. After digging through his files a bit more, we discovered that he was almost discharged for abandoning his unit because of “stupid orders.” Nothing about his recent combat record would indicate a repeat of this behavior, but it is something that we have kept in mind while recruiting him.

Psychological Report:

-He seems obsessed with getting his team’s score higher than Team A despite the knowledge that he has picked less experienced and non-military recruits.

-He can sometimes spend a concerning amount of time preparing for missions and rarely uses the designated rest hours his team is assigned

-His orders can sometimes lean on the reckless side, but work given that his teammates are fully behind him

Notes:

-Team B was formed entirely because of Geoff’s desire to differentiate himself from his teammates as well as having an additional team on hand in case we would ever need it.

Name: Mi Hi Liu

Alias: Arcade

Age: 23
Gender: Female

Race: Korean

Hometown: Busan, Korea

Team: B

Class: Heavy, Demolitions Expert

Background:

Mi’s background is strange, we found out about her when the 707th SMB diffused a hostage situation in a abandoned arcade in Busan. It turns out that the arcade was a triad hideout and Mi had single handedly infiltrated and taken all of the heads hostage, forcing them to play the remaining arcade machines. What we didn’t know at the time is that when they scored below a certain number, the whole building would explode her included. The local police forces were unsuccessful in rescuing them, but the special forces were able to free everyone after a four hour negotiating period. XCOM looked at her due to her expertise with explosives, the explosives found in the arcade were on a tier that conventional military forces couldn’t replicate.

Psychological Report:

It’s no secret that she’s a little crazy, but her expertise with explosives in unmatched, even by those on Team A. She’s outwardly cold towards everyone and doesn’t seem to have any friends in the regular sense. This is the main thing that held her back from Team A. She’s a loose cannon, but DeWitt has somehow convinced her to fit into his chain of command. She doesn’t act her age, demonstrating the mental capacity of a child at times. Whenever she isn’t busy, she can be seen playing on the special arcade machine she has in her room, suggesting that she uses it as some coping method for PTSD.

Notes:

She has requested that the PacMan machine from the arcade, no bomb of course, be placed in her room.

She is not to be allowed into the armory unless under strict supervision.
