Razer is so annoying sometimes

  So earlier today I was trying to set up my webcam for a special stream we did. I have the Razer Kiyo Pro which uses synapse for software and firmware related stuff. I also have the razer base station chroma which is supposed to be like a combo USB hub and headphone holder. I was trying to update the firmware on my webcam, but it wasn’t cooperating and suddenly synapse froze and like half the things I had plugged in died. The only thing I could do was use my mouse and wave it around to click on things. I spent like 40 minutes trying to fix things and was genuinely annoyed at what was happening. It definitely didn’t help that I had a stream to go to in like less than an hour at this point. Luckily I found the problem: the base station. I’m not sure what it is, but whenever I have the base station plugged in and I try to plug things into it, it bricks my computer’s USB controller or something. Like all of the USB things except for the base station die and the usb ports on the hub itself don’t even work. Just the darn chroma lights. 


In any case, it just highlights how annoying some of the newer razer products and synapse itself have become over the years. If they still didn’t have one the most solid mouse shapes I probably would’ve dropped them fully a while ago. Heck I don’t even use their mice anymore besides carrying a deathadder V3 in my backpack. Yes, that’s how good the deathadder shape is, I will willingly by the latest model and daily drive it despite all my issues. As much as I would love to explain more about what some of the deeper issues I have, I’d rather just take a break because I’m super tired from all of the stuff I did today.


I know it’s a shorter post today, but I wasn’t lying when my day was a little crazy today. I won’t promise an extra long one tomorrow to make up for it, but hopefully something more of a conventional length. Thanks for reading as always!

Goodbye Counter Strike: Global Offensive

  Well, considering everything that's happening in CSGO right this moment I think it's very likely today is the last day for the game. I don’t really wanna make this some long sappy post about the really nice memories I’ve had with this game so I’ll just keep it short and simple. Without CSGO, my life would never have gone this way. After spending many years failing at sports I was beginning to accept that I would never genuinely be good at anything competitive. CSGO helped me find something I could enjoy in that way. The game’s emphasis on skill and constant dedication enabled me to really feel like my time investment was going to something I was actually improving at.
